Connect the intended ad account, start with a read-only performance check, and approve changes against a clear spend limit. The figures in this recording are Meta-attributed results, including trial-start events. They are not all cash collected.
I have never run a Facebook ad in my life.
I've never worked at an agency. I don't have a media buyer. Every single time I opened Ads Manager I closed it again about ninety seconds later, because it felt like a cockpit and I couldn't find the runway.
But I'd wanted to run ads for about two years. Everything else in this business is already built — the offers work, people who find me buy. I just had no way of getting in front of more of them that didn't involve me making another video.
So instead of learning it, I gave my ad account to Claude Code.
What connecting Claude Code to Meta ads actually means
Not a screenshot of my dashboard. Not me copying numbers into a chat window. Actual read-and-write access to the live ad account, through Meta's own hosted MCP connector.
Claude reads what I've spent, works out what's underperforming, tells me what it wants to change, and I say yes or no from my phone. On Monday mornings it does a deeper read and tells me what to keep, what to scale and what to kill.
The connection took about four minutes in my recorded setup. Check the current account requirements and enabled operations before reproducing it; tools and permissions can change.

Recorded eight-day snapshot: A$721 spend and A$3,765 Meta-attributed value.
One caveat I'd rather give you than leave sitting there. That figure is Meta's own attribution across all three campaigns, and at the time of this recording, my membership fired its purchase event at trial start rather than at payment — so a chunk of it hadn't landed in the bank yet. The course revenue is real money that genuinely cleared. Knowing which of your numbers are real is most of the job.
Connecting Claude to your Meta ad account
| Recorded measure | Value | What it establishes |
|---|---|---|
| Spend over eight days | A$721 | Reported ad spend |
| Meta-attributed value | A$3,765 | Mixed campaign attribution, including membership trial-start events |
| Actual paid cash from those conversions | Not established by this screenshot | Requires reconciliation with payment records |
Start from Meta’s own AI connector setup page, which may require a Facebook login. Add the connection using the current instructions and authenticate the correct business account. This article shows my recorded workflow, not a guarantee that every account has the same tools today.
That's genuinely the whole step. If you've ever wired up any other connector — and if you haven't, this walkthrough of Gmail and Calendar connectors covers the same pattern — it's the same shape.

Turning Claude into an ads expert
Here's the part I think matters most, and it's got nothing to do with ads.
I don't know what good ad strategy looks like. So I didn't write the strategy — I went and got it. I used a scraper to pull the YouTube libraries of people who do know, including Ben Heath and Sam Piliero, and had Claude turn what they teach into a skill.
That skill is now the thing that plans my campaigns. When the experts disagreed, I had it resolve conflicts by budget rather than by whoever had the biggest channel.
Instead of learning it, I gave it to Claude Code.
This is a repeatable move. Any domain where you're the beginner and the expertise is publicly documented, you can do this. If you want the underlying method, I've written about building skill systems in Claude properly.

Making the creative
I reused organic content that had already performed — a reel that did well for my masterclass — and had Claude generate variations from photos already sitting in my downloads folder.
Forty-one creatives came out. Six went live. That ratio is the point: the cost of making an option collapsed, so being picky got cheap.
The 7am Slack report
Every morning I get a message in a Slack channel with what spent, what converted, and whether anything needs attention.

I built this specifically because of a mistake I could feel coming. In the first week you badly want to fiddle — and fiddling is how you reset the learning phase and burn money. The report gave me something to look at that wasn't the campaign editor.
Set a budget you're genuinely fine losing in that first week. I'm ahead now. Claude can also get things wrong, and going in blind means you should only be blind with money you can afford to be blind with.
Three things that bit me
The MCP wouldn't connect from the terminal. It showed as connected in Claude but wasn't picked up for ages. Restarting it a few times over was what finally sorted it.
Edits can pause a live campaign. When browser automation clicked around in Ads Manager, it sometimes paused ads as a side effect. It came back and told me each time — but if you're not watching, that's silent lost spend.
The MCP can't upload creative. There are permissions it doesn't have. I used a browser automation tool to do the uploading instead, which turned out faster anyway.
FAQ
Can Claude actually run Facebook ads?
With a supported connector and the right permissions, Claude can inspect an ad account and propose or perform supported changes. My recorded setup had read and write tools, but creative uploading needed a separate browser step. Verify the current tool list before enabling writes; do not generalise that limitation to every integration.
Do you need to know how to run ads first?
No. I didn't, and still largely don't. What you need is a way to get real expertise into the system — I scraped ads educators' content and had Claude build a skill from it. You also need a budget you're comfortable losing while it learns.
How much does connecting Claude to Meta ads cost?
My recording described no separate connector charge. Check the current Meta setup page, your Claude usage and any research-tool costs. Ad spend is separate and should have an explicit account budget.
Is it safe to give AI access to your ad account?
It's permission-based — mine proposes changes and I approve them. The real risks aren't dramatic: an edit silently pausing a campaign, or fiddling too much in the first week and resetting the learning phase. Both are manageable if you're watching.
All four skills from this build — the ads skill, the creative engine, the connector setup and the browser workaround — live inside the membership, along with everything else I've built.
If you'd rather have someone map this to your business directly, that's what consulting is for.
